Work Day Blues
Not So Typical Work Day
There are some things that I couldn’t give up doing for my baby. I want to be the one to prepare her clothes to be worn for the day up to her sleeping get-up (socks, mittens, jammies), mix her breakfast milk and most important of all, bathe her in the mornings. This has been more or less my morning routine since Amelie was born.
Today is a not-so-typical day in the office because the top guy (as in the boss of our boss’ boss..) in our division flew in from UK for a meeting. With that I needed to report for work in the morning as opposed to my current afternoon part time schedule. And guess what? It’s 5 past the arranged time of 10am and I was still on the road! My Gad! I knew I would be late if I insist to do all those things for my baby but I still did at the expense of being late at work. Can you blame me for being a mom??
Saved By the Lift
I was in a mad rush to reach the 10th floor and had hoped that noone will share the lift with me. As it stopped at the 9th floor, I frowned as the door opened and saw a man standing a bit far from the lift door. I struggled to push the ‘close’ button several times but as he decided to ran towards the door I had no choice but to push the ‘open’ button instead. He smiled and acknowledged as he seemed to be in a rush, too.
When I quickly dropped off my bag on my desk and ran towards the meeting room, guess who was right there making his introductions? The man whom I shared the lift with is the same man that I was fretting to disappoint for my tardiness! Ha ha.

a funny turn of events

at least for me, his bathtime is at night (as part of his bedtime routine), so I at least don’t have to bathe him in the morning!

hi mia: naku sinabi mo. sobrang hiya ko na talaga if di ko sya pinasabay sa lift. akshully, we’re just about 15 in the meeting room, star na star ang dating ng lola mo when i entered the room.. huling-huli.
