[WS] Driving and Mt Druitt
Sticky note: Inspired by the Weekend Snapshot photo meme, I would like to start blogging about the past weekend no matter how mundane or eventful it was.

I Conquered My Fear
Since I came to Sydney, R had been the designated driver. It wasn’t because I was lazy to drive but I had fears of driving our car. Back in the Philippines, I had only driven a Corolla 90’s model and then in more recent years my father’s Honda CRV. In Singapore, it was a Toyota Vios. I know there are even bigger SUVs out there but my main worry is “how would I be able to park Da Pogi?” The car is bulky and much longer than the ones I got used to driving.
But like most things, my fear had come to an end. Saturday morning, I drove the three of us to the shopping center. It was a short drive but it was good enough. R was his usual supportive self and I didn’t worry much about threading the road but THE PARKING bit. So when we got there, as soon as the vacant parking spaces were in my view, I parked although it was a long walk to the mall’s entrance. Ha ha.
That’s a good start, I’d say. I would love to bring Amelie to the mall or library by myself soon.
Old Friends
Our lunch meet-up with my sister’s friend’s place supposedly today, Sunday got cancelled. The host’s son was sick and we had to move it on another date. So we planned to go to the Sydney Fish Market instead. I wanted to hoard some fresh fish, squid and prawns because we have been eating pork, chicken and beef for 2 weeks in a row!
But as soon as we got home from church to prepare for our trip to the city, I remembered that my college batch mate and friend organized a lunch meet-up with another batch mate from Canberra. I begged off because of the earlier invite. So not to miss the chance of meeting Franc1a, off we went to Mt Druitt instead. Here are some of our photos:

Just like old times.

With our hubbies and Franc1a’s cousin.

First time to see a Starbucks drive through

I had to take a few shots of the store, it’s our first time to see one.
